NRC Commissioner JR Richardson presents Gov. Snyder with 2018 GE Duck Stamp Print

Snyder presents additional matted and framed GE prints to Tribal Elders at Escanaba State Fair

First proposed by the Michigan DNR, the first ever run of a Governor's Edition of the Michigan Duck Stamp celebrates a long-standing relationship between MDHA and the DNR. With all proceeds going to MDHA specifically for waterfowl and wetland conservation, the Governor's Edition is more than just another run of stamps and prints; it is a step toward the continuing protection of Michigan's wetland resources, the wildlife that use them, and the rich hunting heritage associated with wetlands and waterfowl.
Gov. Snyder made his final visit as Governor to the Escanaba State Fair on August 17, 2018. During his visit, JR Richardson of the Natural Resources Council presented the outgoing Governor with the number 1 print of the Governor's Edition Michigan Duck Stamp Print. Specially matted and framed by MDHA, the print was gifted to Gov. Snyder as a thank you for his support of the DNR and its mission. MDHA also worked with the NRC to mat and frame an additional 12 GE prints, which Gov. Snyder then presented to Tribal Elders from Michigan's federally recognized tribes.

MDHA is proud to have produced the Governor's Edition of the 2018 Michigan Duck Stamp Print and the special occasions which have followed because of it. MHDA also looks forward to future Governor's Editions as it continues its mission of locally implementing wetland and waterfowl conservation to achieve statewide results.
