2018 Michigan Waterfowl Seasons

September 1: Goose and Early Teal Season begin!

September 15 & 16: Youth Waterfowl Weekend; Early Teal season ends (Sunday, 9/16).

September 17: Reserved Waterfowl Hunt drawings posted to Michigan DNR website.

September 29 - November 25: North Zone duck season! Split weekend is December 1 & 2.

October 6 - December 2: Middle Zone duck season! Split weekend is December 15 & 16.

October 13 - December 9: South Zone duck season! Split weekend is December 29 & 30.

November 10: Veterans Preference drawing at Muskegon County Wastewater Managed
Waterfowl Hunt Area.

November 11: Veterans Preference drawing at Fish Point, Harsens Island, Nayanquing Point, Point Mouillee, Shiawassee River, and Fennville Farm Managed Waterfowl Hunt Areas.

Changes to Michigan Duck Hunting Regulations for 2018

  • Non-residents can now purchase a waterfowl license without purchasing a base license if a 3- or 7-day small game license is purchased.
  • The daily limit on pintails has increased to 2.
